SAILOR ON BOLIVIANO DROWNED AT NORFOLK

Young Englishman Loses His Life While Bathing Beside His Vessel

News was received at the local office of Furness, Withy & Company, Ltd., 
yesterday that John Hamilton, a young seaman of the crew of the British 
Steamship Boliviana, lost his life about 11 o’clock Sunday morning while in 
bathing near his vessel at Lambert’s Point. It is supposed that the young 
man, who was a good swimmer, was seized with cramps while in the water. 
Young Hamilton was a native of London, England, and was 22 years old. The 
body was buried in the Seaman’s Lot at Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, yesterday 
afternoon. 
The Boliviana went from this port to Norfolk last week to complete her cargo 
of exports for London.
