Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, July 19, 1998 
Dennis D. Hamlet, 34, of the 800 block of W. 38th St., died July 15, 1998, in
Harbour Pointe Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Norfolk, he was a sales manager for Minnesota Fabrics with 14 years of
service.

Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Hamlet; three sisters, Doris Woods, Sarita
Hamlet and Cassandra Mason; two brothers, Victor Hamlet and Luther Hamlet; his
grandfather, Franklin Van Person of Portsmouth; three devoted nephews, Dominic,
Colby and Courtlandt; a devoted niece, Tenesha; and a host of other relatives
and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Sidney Mason.

``D.D.'' was a well-rounded, friendly person, always willing to go the extra
mile to help. He was devoted to his family and friends and, before his
employment ended, he was devoted to his customers. He will be greatly missed by
all who knew him.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Friendship Baptist Church, 3834 E.
Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, by the Rev. Gregory Norris. Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
today in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Hampton Roads Chapel, Granby St. Family
and friends will assemble at 831 W. 38th St., Norfolk, at 11 a.m. Monday for the
procession.
