A funeral service was held Monday at Bank Street Baptist Church for Thomas 
Hamlin, 89, a retired stevedore and member of Local 1248 of the International 
Longshoremen’s Association.

Mr. Hamlin, who lived at 910 Wide street, died in a hospital on Friday.  His 
eulogy was delivered by the Rev. J. B. Henderson.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery under direction of Hale Funeral Home.

The deceased was a native of Waverly and lived in Norfolk 70 years.  His 
fraternal affiliations were with Eureka Lodge, of which he was chaplain, the 
Good Samaritans and the Fishermen, and Bank Street’s usher board.

He is survived by two nieces.
