Norfolk - George Hanson Hamlin, 89, of 741 W. 28th street, died Wednesday in
Medic Health Center after a long illness.

A native of Wakefield, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Mary Lee Hamlin and a
son of Henry and Mrs. Rebecca Hamlin.

He retired after 40 years as a coal worker.

Surviving are a son, Richard Hamlin of Brooklyn;  three daughters, Mrs. Emma
Williams of Brooklyn, Mrs. Ruby Jarris of New York, and Mrs. Nancy Green of
Norfolk;  21 grandchildren;  and 42 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held in Community Funeral Home by the Rev. M. L. Williams.
 Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
