Norfolk Landmark January 20, 1894

The many friends of Mrs. Mary E. Hammer, wife of Mr. John T. Hammer, will regret 
exceedingly to learn of her death, which occurred at her residence, No. 202 
Charlotte Street, at an early hour yesterday morning. The deceased was in the 
38th year of her age and was a most estimable lady. The funeral will take place 
from the residence this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Hammer, wife of Mr. John T. Hammer, took place 
yesterday afternoon from the residence, No. 202 Charlotte Street, and was 
conducted by Rev. J.C. Martin, of Queen Street M.E. Church. The interment was in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
