The Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 29, 1937


Mrs. Irene G. Hammond, age 67, of 1102 ˝ Tunstall Avenue, died yesterday at 10 
o’clock after a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, the 
daughter of the late Eliza Bradley Crosby and William Crosby, and the wife of 
Albert W. Hammond. Besides her husband, she is survived by a cousin, Mrs. Mamie 
Garrett, of Norfolk. The body was removed to the Gregory Funeral Home, Thirty-
fourth and Granby Streets, for funeral services tomorrow afternoon at 3 
o’clock, the Rev. J. Sutherland Watts, of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church 
officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
