NORFOLK- Rev. James H. Hammond Sr., of 1265 Reservoir Ave., associate minister
of Holy Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, died Tuesday in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, he was an employee of the City of Norfolk.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Hollomon and Mrs. Essie Hines of
Norfolk; and five sons, James Hammond Jr., Sammy Hammond, Dwight Hammond and
Manuel Hammond of Norfolk, and Tyronne Hammond of Bridgeport CT.

A funeral service will be held Friday at noon in Holy Jerusalem Church of God in
Christ by Elder Queenie Barton.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Graves
Funeral Home in charge.  The family will be at 829 E. 27th St.
