She was a native of Gates County, N.C., and had made her home in this section 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Simeon J. and Ellen Hayes Rountree and wife of Amos Beaureguard Hanbury. Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Miss Gladys Hanbury, Mrs. W.B. Daniel, Mrs. O.D. Poythress, and Miss Alma Hanbury, all of South Norfolk, and Mrs. H.L. Jones, Johnstown, Pa.; one son, Vernon B. Hanbury, of Portlock; four brothers, William S. and Hubert H. Rountree, of South Norfolk, and Claude J. Rountree, Oaklette, Norfolk County and S. Baxter Rountree, Alavista, and 12 grandchildren. She was a charter member of the South Norfolk Christian Church. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
