A native of Greenville, N.C., she had made her home in this section 45 years. She was a former resident of Berkley where she was well known and esteemed, but for the past 10 years had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Thomas L. Woodhouse at Virginia Beach. She was the widow of the late Capt. William Harrison Hancock. In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Woodhouse, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ella Crisp, of Long View, Wash.; two grandchildren, Thomas L. Woodhouse, Jr. and William Hancock Woodhouse and a great-grandchild. She was a member of St. Bride's Episcopal Church, of Berkley. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets. Funeral services will be conducted at the grave in Magnolia Cemetery tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. *************************************************************************** NOTE; Notice of her funeral in the July 16, 1943 edition lists her survivors as a grandchild, Thomas L. Woodhouse, Jr. and a great grandchild, William Hancock Woodhouse. ********************************************************************** Mrs. Jennie Brownie Hancock - Funeral services for Mrs. Hancock, wife of the late Capt. W.H. Hancock, of Virginia Beach, who died Wednesday morning in a local hospital, were conducted at the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. Charles Field, III, pastor of the Church of the Advent, Episcopal, Norfolk, and the Rev. David C. George, pastor of St. Brides Episcopal Church, Berkley officiated. Funeral director's assistants served as pallbearers. Mrs. Hancock was a well known Berkley citizen for many years.
