William Edward Hannan, 64, of 1729 Cooper Road, the husband of Mrs. Laura Stansell Hannan, died Friday in his home. Hannan, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, lived in Tidewater for 17 years. He retired in 1963 as an Air Force Pilot after 20 years' service, which included World War II and the Korean War. He worked for Holt Buick for four years as a salesman after retirement. He attended the University of Alabama and was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Other survivors include a son, Mark C. Hannan of Hartford, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Virginia Guhl of Washington and Mrs. Treanor Bardeen of West Reading, Conn.; a brother, Mark C. Hannan of Bethesda, Md,; and two granddaughters. A Christian Wake service will be held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, Sunday night at 7. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in Star of the Sea Catholic Church by the Rev. Paul T. Gaughan. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad or to the Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
