Norfolk Virginian Pilot October 16, 1947

Mrs. Mary Rosalie McElroy Hannan, 68, widow of Michael C. Hannan and daughter of 
the late Edward and Mrs. Mary Welch McElroy, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, and a 
resident of this section for nine years, died at the residence, 201 Pocahontas 
Drive, Virginia Beach, yesterday at 5:45 p.m.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Mary V. Hannan, of Virginia Beach and Mrs. 
Burton Lane Bardeen, of Medford, Ore.; two sons, Capt. William E. Hannan, U.S. 
Army and Mark C. Hannan, of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Mrs. William P. 
Hannon, Miss Gertrude McElroy, both of Youngstown, Ohio and Miss Ella L. 
McElroy, of Daytona Beach, Fla. and two brothers, Edward J. McElroy, of Phoenix, 
Ariz. and James T. McElroy, of Miami, Fla.
The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.

HANNAN, MARY ROSALIE MCELROY - At the residence, No. 201 Pocahontas Drive, 
Virginia Beach, Va., Wednesday, October 15th, 1947, at 5:45 o'clock p.m., Mary 
Rosalie McElroy, widow of Michael C. Hannan, and daughter of the late Edward and 
Mary Welch McElroy, in the 69th year of her age.  Remains will be taken from the 
H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial Avenue, to the Star of the 
Sea Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, for services Saturday morning at 10 
o'clock.  Friends of the family are invited to attend.  Interment, St. Mary's 
Cemetery.
