Virginian Pilot May 17, 1963

Ernest Edwin Hanson, 38, of 304 Stancil Court, Princess Anne Plaza, husband of 
Mrs. Shirley Welch Hanson and son of Mrs. Nellie M. Hanson and the late Pearly 
Edwin Hanson, died Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in a hospital.
He was a native of Norfolk and a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church. He 
was employed at the Naval Air Station. 
Besides his widow and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Shirley Teresa 
Hanson and a son, Ernest Edwin Hanson Jr., both of Virginia Beach. 
The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.

HANSON, ERNEST EDWIN - At a local hospital, Thursday, May 16th, 1963, at 3:30 
p.m., ERNEST EDWIN HANSON, husband of Mrs. Shirley Welch Hanson and son of Mrs. 
Nellie M. and the late Pearly Edwin Hanson, in the 39th year of his age. Remains 
will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to the Star of the Sea 
Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, for a funeral service THIS (Monday) MORNING at 
10 o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
