A native of Norfolk, Hardy, who was the son of the late Caldwell Hardy, at one time the president of a Norfolk bank and later president of the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, is widely remembered among older residents of the city His mother, Mrs. Lucy H. Hardy, died many years ago. Col. Charles H. Consolvo, owner of the Monticello and Jefferson Hotels, recalled yesterday that Hardy was treasurer of the Monticello Realty Company when he took over the principal holding in 1911. Subsequently, Hardy worked under his direction for more than 20 years until he retired in 1933. Hardy is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Synington Hardy; two sisters, Miss Kate Hardy, Richmond, and Mrs. Sewell K. Oliver, Columbia, S.C. Funeral services for Hardy will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 12:20 in the L.T. Christian Funeral Home, Richmond, by the Rev. Vincent C. Franks, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of that city. Services will be held at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, tomorrow afternoon at 4 o’clock with the Rev. Moultrie Guerry, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, officiating.
