Hardy, whose death occurred at the home of her son-in-law Mr. Caldwell Hardy, No. 176 Granby Street, Saturday evening, was solemnized from the residence at 10 o’clock yesterday morning, and was attended by a large concourse of the friends of the deceased. The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. B. D. Tucker of St. Paul’s Episcopal church, assisted by Rev. W. A. Barr, of St. Luke’s church. The remains were laid to rest in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: Richard H. Baker, R. C. Taylor, W. F. Irvine, B. A. Marsden, William H. White, John H. Vaughan, R. B. Cooke, James Riddle, C. Billups, J. W. McCarrick, and W. R. Mayo. Mrs. Hardy was a native of Philadelphia, and was the relict of the late Dr. Thomas Hardy, and the mother of Mrs. Caldwell Hardy. The deceased was the daughter of John and Sarah Chapman Wallington, of Philadelphia, but had been a resident of Norfolk for forty nine years, and was in the eighty fourth year of her age.
