NORFOLK - Mrs. Leona Pope Hardy, 78, of 1313 Creamer Road, the widow of Thomas S. 
Hardy and a native of Sunbury, N.C., died Monday morning in her home.
She lived here 64 years and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Rosa H. Blair, and a son, Thomas S. Hardy, both 
of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Frances Deuell of Newport News; three brothers, J. R. 
Pope and G. G. Pope of Newport News, and Mark Pope of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; 
and 18 great-grandchildren.
A Christian Wake service will be held tonight at 7:30 in Holy Trinity Catholic 
Church. A funeral will be held in the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Fr. 
Michael Duffy. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Hollomon-Brown Funeral 
Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, in charge.
