The Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 15, 1947
Mrs. Emily Winchester Irwin Hardy, 83, widow of Robert Lee Hardy and daughter 
of the late Capt. Henry and Mrs. Cornelia Whitehead Irwin, a native and well 
known resident of Norfolk, died Thursday at 11 p.m. in a Richmond hospital.  
She was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Church.
She is survived by one son, Edward M. Hardy, of Virginia Beach, and a number of 
nieces and nephews, among whom are Mrs. Robert F. Baldwin and Mrs. Cornelia 
McBlair Stribling, of Norfolk.
Services will be held at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 2 p.m. by 
the Rev. C.W. Carnan, Jr., rector of Galilee Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach.  
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
