Y., July 30.—(AP)— John Harker, lumberman and one of the organizers of the North Carolina Pine Association, died today at his home. He was 79. Harker, starting in the lumber business as a boy in Liverpool, came to Norfolk, Va., where in 1888 he established his own wholesale business. A member of the Wiley-Harker Lumber Company for years he furnished lumber for cantonments during the World War. His widow, three sons and three daughters survive. Burial will be in Norfolk. John Harker - Funeral services for John Harker, former resident of Norfolk, whose death occurred Monday in White Plains, N.Y., will be held at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, this morning at 9 o'clock, with the Rev. Norman E. Taylor officiating.
