Norfolk Virginian November 19, 1889

The funeral of Mrs. Jane Hamilton Harker, wife of Mr. John Harker, took place 
yesterday from Christ Episcopal Church and was attended by a very large number of 
the congregation and friends of the deceased. Mrs. Harker died Saturday afternoon 
and her death was a peculiarly distressing one, as she was of English birth and 
without relatives in this country. Rev. O.S. Barten officiated at the services 
yesterday, which commenced at 12 o'clock. The floral tributes were very handsome 
and the interment took place in Elmwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Messrs. 
John N. Green, R.H. Hooper, Geoffrey Morgan, G.R. Murdock, F.S. Loper, Thomas J. 
Anderson, John Q. Ferguson and Joseph T. Tunis.
