Norfolk Vriginian Pilot Saturday May 22, 1954
James Alexander Harlow, 81, retired employee of the Jacob Ruppert Brewing 
Company, died Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at his residence, 1239 Seaboard Avenue, 
South Norfolk, after an illness of almost one year.
A native of Weldon, N.C., he had lived in this section for half a century.  
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Leta May Cartwright Harlow; one daughter, Mrs. 
Joseph E. Harlow, of Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Linwood F. Harlow; one 
sister, Mrs. Emma Tippett; one grandson, James Dalton Harlow, all of 
Norfolk, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Margaret Peake, of California.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 3 p.m. at the Graham Funeral 
Home, South Norfolk.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
