Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, August 3, 1997 
Hersellman Harper, of the 700 block of E. 156th St., died July 27, 1997, in New
York City.

She was the widow of Samuel L. Harper. Survivors include three sisters,
Catherine Woodhouse and Ruth Powell of New York City and Beatrice Holloman of
Chesapeake; and many other surviving relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph A.M.E. Zion Church,
Chesapeake, by the Rev. C.A. Eason. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery ,
Norfolk. The family will be at 2037 Stonehurst St., Chesapeake. Fitchett Funeral
