Norfolk Virginian Pilot Monday January 7, 1952
William Leroy Harrell, 70, of 1200 Holly Street, South Norfolk, died yesterday 
in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness.
He was a native of Edenton, N.C., and had resided in this area for 30 years. He 
was the son of the late William E. Harrell and Mrs. Sally Harrell.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Adabelle Ashley Harrell; 
two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Boone, of Charlotte, N.C. and Mrs. J.B. Whitfield, of 
Norfolk; three sons, Herman, of Columbia, S.C., E.L., of South Norfolk and Lloyd 
Harrell of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Haste and Minnie Harrell, and one 
brother, Emmet Harrell, of Edenton, eight grandchildren and three great 
grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk where services 
will be conducted tomorrow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
