Birdie Mae Stengle Harrill, 84, of the 700 block of Crepe Myrtle Lane, went 
home to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2005, at a local hospital. Mrs. Harrill 
was born on June 28, 1921, in Jackson, Miss., the daughter of the late Birdie 
Mae Pridgeon and Samuel Bland Stengle. She was the widow of Clark D. Harrill. 
She was a graduate of Maury High School and had retired from the Oceana Navy 
Exchange. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Harrill Westergard and her 
husband Lee of Newport News and Mary Harrill Pickrell and her husband Howard of 
Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Aaron Pickrell of New Mexico, Howard 
Pickrell Jr. and his wife Christa of Virginia Beach, Robert Pickrell III of 
Virginia Beach, Joshua Westergard of Oklahoma, and Heather Westergard of 
Newport News; nine great-grandchildren, Richard, Reyahnna, Robert, Trevor, 
Aubrey, Reese, Aiden, Noah and Brandon; and her dear friend and companion, 
David Moser. A funeral will be conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. at H.D. Oliver 
Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in 
Norfolk. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
