Harris, 88, who until her retirement a year ago was the oldest employe of the Community Fund, died yesterday morning at a local nursing home after a long illness. Prior to coming here in 1904 to join the staff of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Miss Harris had been a field representative of the National organization for 36 years, with her duties taking her all over the country. She joined the staff of the Community Fund as field representative when it was organized in 1924. Miss Harris, a native of Providence, R.I. was long a member of the Business Woman's Club of the Y.W.C.A. and attended the Christian Scientist Church. There are no living relatives. Funeral services will be conducted at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
