Norfolk Journal and Guide, Feb 1,1958
Samuel Harris, 7370 Gregory Drive, died January 22 in a Norfolk hospital at the 
age of 56.  He was a son of Edward and Mrs. Arizona Pittford Harris.

A native of Pilot, NC, he had lived in Norfolk about six years.

He was employed by the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority and was a 
member of First Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Lenora Harris;  Leroy Harris, son, John and 
Edgar Harris, Spring Hope, NC;  Joseph Harris, California;  Mrs. Orie Mae Davis, 
Raleigh;  Mrs. Novella Meade, Durham, and Thomas Harris.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 26 at First Calvary Baptist 
Church with the pastor, Rev. C. E. Griffin, officiating.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale’s Funeral Home in charge.
