Norfolk - Funeral rites will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. in Hale 
Funeral chapel for Willie Harris, of 2619 Middle avenue.  The Rev. Lawrence L. 
Craig will officiate.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery with military 
honors.  Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mr. Harris, who died Aug. 16 in a Williamsburg hospital after a short illness, 
was a son of the late John and Mrs. Helen Harris and the husband of the late 
Mrs. Mamie Harris.

He was a retired pullman of Norfolk and Western Railroad after 20 years and 
was an Army veteran of World War I.

Surviving are two sons, Leroy Harris of New York and Dennis Harris of 
Hartford, CT;  three daughters, Misses Beatrice Harris of Norfolk, Willie Mae 
Harris of Florida, MS;  and Edna Mae Harris of Mt. Vernon, NY;  one sister, 
Mrs. Lillian Williams of CA;  and 17 grandchildren.
