Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, August 4, 1991 
Roy C. Harris, 65, of the 8100 block of Tidal Road, a retired senior petty 
officer, died Aug. 2, 1991, in a hospital.

Mr. Harris was born in Augusta County. He retired from the Navy after 25 years 
and from General Electric as an engineer assistant after 15 years. He was a 
member of the Fleet Reserve Association and was past president of Camelia 
Gardens Civic League. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean 
War. He was an Episcopalian.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Barr Sutton Harris; a son, R. Chris Harris of 
Earlysville; a stepson, George F. Sutton of Virginia Beach; five 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery . 
Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown 
Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, and other times at the residence.
