Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, April 26, 2001 
NORFOLK - Leon Oliver ``Daddy'' Harris Jr., 67, of the 900 block of E. 28th St.,
died April 21, 2001.

Born in Norfolk, he was retired and was the widower of Mary Winborne Harris and
Minister Lucille P. Harris.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathaleen Bond and Christine Elizabeth Harris
Hayes, both of Norfolk; three sons, Bobby Alonzo Harris and his wife, Gloria,
both of Georgia, Bernard Leon Harris and his wife, Jewel, and Julius Jon Harris
and his wife, Toni, all of Norfolk; a brother, Samuel Harris of Norfolk; and a
host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces, nephews,
great-nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents,
Lorraine Sessoms Harris and Leon Oliver Harris Sr.; his sister, Loretta L. Gee
Ridley; and his grandparents, all formerly of Norfolk.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Mount Joy COGIC, 109 W. 26th
St., Norfolk. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , 1600 St. Julian Ave.,
Norfolk. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.

He was deeply loved and will be surely missed but not forgotten.
