Norfolk Virginian Pilot Monday February 7, 1944
John S. M. Harrison, 66, husband of Mrs. Clara H. Harrison and son of the 
late Benjamin F. and Virginia Hyslop Harrison, a life-long resident of 
Norfolk, died at the residence, 1044 Bay View Boulevard, yesterday afternoon 
at 2:15 o’clock. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Virginia 
Jackson; three sons, Arthur A., Warrant Officer Benjamin F. and John E. 
Harrison; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Clara Wilkins and a stepson, Claude A. 
Withrow; two sisters, Mrs. Roberta L. Hudkins and B. S. Harrison, all of 
Norfolk; 14 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ewell & Williamson funeral home 
tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock by the Rev. L. R. Black, pastor of Ocean 
View Methodist Church, of which Mr. Harrison was a member. The place of 
burial will be announced later.
