Ballentine Home, Monday, March 4, 1940, at 5 o'clock a.m., Daisy McAlpine Harwood, widow of Henry L. Harwood and daughter of the late Dr. James Newton McAlpine and Laura Herbert McAlpine. Services at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial avenue, WEDNESDAY MORNING at 11 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment private, Magnolia Cemetery. *********************** Mrs. Daisy McAlpine Harwood, widow of Henry L. Harwood and daughter of (the late) Dr. James Newton and Mrs. Laura Herbert McAlpine, a native of Princess Anne County and a lifelong resident of this section, died at 5 o'cock yesterday morning at the Mary F. Ballentine Home. She is survived by one daughter (sister), Miss Rebecca McAlpine and a great niece, Mrs. Ellie McAlpine Jones, both of Norfolk. Mrs. Harwood was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock Interment will be private in Magnolia Cemetery. The services will be conducted by the Rev. H. H. Martens, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Additional Comments: Magnolia Both parents were deceased and Rebecca is a sister, not a daughter.
