Haskett, Aged 79, Discovered By Granddaughter Mrs. N.N. Haskett, aged 79, died of illuminating gas asphyxiation yesterday afternoon at her home at 1326 Seaboard avenue, South Norfolk. She had been in ill health for some time. Found lying on the floor of the first floor of the residence by her granddaughter, Miss Betty Rice, inhalator squads from the Norfolk and South Norfolk police departments worked over the aged woman for nearly an hour but to no avail. The widow of T.W. Haskett, Mrs. Haskett is survived by three sons, William T., L.I., and Bert C. Haskett, of Ocean View; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Rice and Mrs. R.H. Hayman, of South Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. Rob Whitehurst; two brothers, Darius White, of Elizabeth City and William White of Richmond, and 13 grandchildren. A native of Pasquotank County, N.C., Mrs. Haskett had made her home in this section 45 years. She was a member of the Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church. The body was removed to the J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, pending funeral arrangements. ************************************************** HASKETT, MRS. NARSIS NIXON - Suddenly, at the family residence, 1326 Seaboard avenue, South Norfolk, Tuesday afternoon, August 1, 1939, at 2 o'clock MRS. NARSIS NIXON HASKETT, a native of Pasquotank, N.C., a resident of this section 45 years, daughter of the late William T and Axie Nixon White, aged 79 years. The body was taken to the J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted THIS (Thursday) AFTERNOON at 3:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
