Gerry was the daughter of the late Geraldine Morrisette Roskam and Edward A. Dougherty. After graduating from Maury High School, she attended Madison College. She was a volunteer at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for many years. She was an active member of Lawrence T. Royster Circle of the King's Daughters and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic minister and a member of St. Martha's Circle. During the summer months, she was also a member of St. John the Apostle Church in Sandbridge. Gerry is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Robert Tabor Hasler Jr.; a daughter, Joan Hasler Brockenbrough and her husband Tom of Charlotte, N.C.; her three grandchildren, Robert Tabor Parker and his wife Jennifer, Jeffrey Blake Parker and his wife Beth, both of Norfolk, Ashley Parker Yancey and her husband Bo of Charlottesville, Va.; her six great-grandchildren, Tabor and Madison Parker, Aven, Blake and Carleigh Parker, and Hasler Yancey; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Walters and her brother, Edward Dougherty. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Mann, her physician for many years, and to Deanna McCabe, her caregiver, during her final weeks. Also a special thanks to all of her wonderful friends for their care and concern. A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6400 Newport Ave., Norfolk, by Father Joseph H. Metzger III. Burial will be private in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters or a charity of your choice.
