NORFOLK - Funeral services were held Wednesday for the Rev. Eli B. Hassell, who
died in Brooklyn.  The rites were conducted by Bishop G. L. Williams at Mother
Church of God in Christ.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Riddick Funeral
Home in charge.

A native of Norfolk, the Rev. Mr. Hassell was the son of the late John Robert
and Mrs. Della Hassell and was the husband of Mrs. Clara Hassell.

He had been an evangelist for 35 years.

Surviving besides his widow are a son, Clifton Hassell of New Jersey, and a
sister, Mrs. Lena Whitley, of Norfolk.
