Norfolk - A funeral was held for Robert P. Hassell Sr., 66, of 2724 Mapleton 
avenue, in Bank Street Baptist Church, Saturday.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery 
with B. F. King in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Norfolk, he was the husband of Mrs. Ellen Hassell and the son of the 
late John and Mrs. Cordelai Hassell.  He was a retired employee of the Atlantic 
and Danville Railroad after 44 years of service.  He was a member of Bank Street 
Baptist Church.

Other survivors are three sons, Robert P. Hassell Jr. of New York and Franklin 
Hassell and Joseph Hassell of Norfolk;  and two sisters, Mrs. Adeline Wills and 
Mrs. Ruth Bock of New York.
