Father Patrick J. Hasty, who had been under treatment at the Hospital of St. Vincent de Paul for some time, died in that institution last evening at twenty minutes past 10 o'clock. The deceased was afflicted with sarcoma in the right leg, which, to save his life, if possible, was amputated last Saturday, with, however, but little prospect of the operation being permanently beneficial, and since that time the patient has been almost in extremity, but has received every care and attention that medical science could afford. Father Hasty was a young man, in his thirty-third year, and was a native of Portsmouth, studied in St. John's College, of this city, and was ordained to the ministry in St. Mary's Church by Bishop Gibbons, some nine years ago. He was widely known in the State, universally respected wherever he has been stationed, and his untimely death will be deeply lamented by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. FUNERAL NOTICE The funeral of Rev. Father P. J. Hasty takes place this (Friday) morning, from St. Mary's Church, after the office of High Mass of Requiem, which will commence at 9 o'clock.
