A native of South Norfolk, he lived here all his life. He was a son of David P. and Mrs. Edna Hatchell Wickins. He was employed by Adley Express Truck Line. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth Cartwright Hatchell; two daughters, Patricia Francine Hatchell and Shelia Faye Hatchell; and a sister, Mrs. Christine H. Martin, all of Chesapeake. He was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home by the Rev. W.A. Cousins of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Norfolk.
