Mrs. W. B. Hatcher died at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York city, following an 
operation for appendicitis, at 4 o’clock yesterday morning.
The deceased was formerly Miss Rosa Friary, of Norfolk. Besides her husband, who 
was formerly in the railroad business here, she is survived by a daughter, 
Elizabeth, aged 5 1/2 years, and two brothers, M. T. Friary, of Norfolk, and 
Andrew Friary, of Lamberts Point, and a sister; Mrs. Thomas Smothers, of Lamberts 
Point. The deceased was a woman of many endearing traits of character and leaves a 
host of friends in this city and section, who will learn with sorrow of her 
demise. She had resided is New York for the past two years.
