Her period of teaching was about 1907 to 1912. She was the widow of Franklin Pierce Hatfield. She lived in South Norfolk 55 years and was a member of Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Audrey H. Lawing of Portsmouth and Mrs. E.L. Emery of Palm Bay, Fla.; a son, Warren O. Hatfield of Ocean View; two sisters, Mrs. G.E. Lawrence of Norfolk and Mrs. T.H. McCown of Pasadena, Calif.; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in Graham Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p.m. with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Lawing, 5200 Old Suffolk Blvd., Portsmouth.
