The Virginian Pilot September 29, 1963
Mrs. Fannie Osborne Hathaway, 91, of 406 Kemp Lane died Saturday at 3:30 p.m. 
in a nursing home.
A native of Berkley, she was a lifelong resident of the Chesapeake area. She 
was a daughter of Reasen and Mrs. Virginia Barnard Osborne and the widow of 
George H. Hathaway. She was an Episcopalian.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W.W. Smithson of Chesapeake; a sister, Mrs. 
Emmie Patterson of Norfolk; and a grandson. 
The body was taken to Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, where a funeral service will 
be held Monday at 2 p.m. by Dr. Peyton R. Williams of Christ and St. Luke's 
Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
