VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Barbara J. Hatten, 41, of 6104 Silversmith Court, the wife 
of Alton C. Hatten Sr., died Tuesday in her home.

A native of Norfolk, she formerly was employed in the medical records department 
at Norfolk General Hospital for 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary's 
Catholic Church, Norfolk, and its Senior Choir.

Survivors also include her parents, Henry Minnis and Marie Lester; a sister, 
Mrs. Harriett Frances of Detroit, Mich.; and a brother, Henry Minnis Jr. of 
Washington.

A Joyful Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in St. 
Mary's Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. Thomas Quinlan. Burial will be in Calvary 
Cemetery, Norfolk, with Jones Funeral Home in charge. A Christian Wake will be 
held in St. Mary's Church Saturday night at 7.

The family will be at the home of Mrs. Lester of 1005 Grayson St., Berkley. They 
have requested that flowers be omitted and memorial donations may be made to the 
Senior Choir of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
