Mary Virginia Hatton, 84, formerly of the 5200 block of Texas Ave., died Aug. 14, 
2004 in Tandem Health Care Center.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk and was the daughter of the late 
John F. and Florence Ashmore Hatton.

Ms. Hatton was a Roman Catholic and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. 
In her youth she attended St. Marys Academy.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Rosalee 
Jefferson. She is survived by her sister, Katherine Hatton Martin and her husband 
Herman of Norfolk; her brother-in-law, Jesse Jefferson of Norfolk; and numerous 
nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated in Christ the King Catholic Church Wednesday 
at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Brian Rafferty. Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic 
Cemetery.

A Christian wake will be held in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Tuesday at 7 p.m.
