NORFOLK - James Joseph Hatton, 77, of 3334 Tidewater Drive, retired deputy fire 
chief and former master mechanic of the Norfolk Fire Division, died Saturday at 8 
a.m. in his home.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church 
and Norfolk Elks Lodge 38.
Surviving are a son, James L. Hatton, a sister, Miss Katie Hatton, and a brother, 
John Hatton, all of Norfolk, a grandchild, and three great-grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 4 p.m.
A funeral service will be held in Christ the King Catholic Church Monday at 11:30 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
