Norfolk - Jerry L. Hawkins, 58, 1361 W. 43rd St., died at his residence at 7
p.m. Thursday.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hawkins and a native of Henderson, NC. He
had resided in Norfolk for the past 35 years and was an employee of the Oriental
Rug Co. for the past 15 years.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Florence Whitehead of Norfolk; two brothers,
William McKinley Hawkins of Norfolk and Hubert Hawkins of Richmond.

The body was taken to the Hale Funeral Home, where funeral services will be
conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman, pastor of Queen Street
Baptist Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
