Norfolk - Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. for the 70-year-old
Mrs. Alice L. Hawkins at Trinity AME Church-the church in which she was
christened as an infant, and died a member of the choir.

Mrs. Hawkins, who was widely known in female fraternal organizations, passed at
her residence, 727 Craig street, Saturday, May 30, at 7:45 p.m., following a
protracted illness.

A life-long resident of the Southside, she was a member of Beulah Temple,
Daughter Elks, Berkley; the Tents, Eastern Star, Ideal Benefit Society, Daughter
Elks Council, Elite Social Club, and a former member of the choral group, Voices
By The Sea.

Survivors include her 91-year-old mother, Mrs. Mary Bowser; husband, Willie
Hawkins; brother, Hubert Bowser; niece, Mrs. Dorothy Bowser; adpted nephew,
Johnny Bowser.

Interment will take place in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Chatman Funeral Home in charge.
