The Virginian Pilot Tuesday June 5, 1956
John Schoolfield (Jack) Hawkins, 46, husband of Mrs. Winifred Davis Hawkins and 
son of Mrs. Maggie Betts Hawkins and the late Aubrey W. Hawkins, died at the 
residence, 1921 Parkview Ave., yesterday at 12:30 p.m.
Hawkins was an outstanding football player in the early thirties at William and 
Mary College in Norfolk.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Miss Cynthia Ella 
Hawkins and Miss Jacquilin Roberta Hawkins, all of Norfolk.
He was a native of New Bern, N.C., and had been a resident of Norfolk for 43 
years.
The body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Magnolia 
Cemetery for funeral services at the grave tomorrow at 2 p.m.
