Virginian Pilot March 9 1908
Miss Harriett F Hawkins departed this life suddenly at the home of her cousin, 
Mrs. E. W. Face, 156 Botetourt Street, at 9 o’clock Sunday night in the 77th 
year of her age. Her illness was only of a few hours duration. The deceased was 
born in Norfolk, where she had passed the whole of her life. The funeral will 
be held from the residence at noon today and will be conducted by Rev. James M. 
Owens of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Rev. Dr. J. E. Thacker of the Second 
Presbyterian Church.
