He was the son of the late Wiley E. and Mrs. Edna E. Hawks and was born in Dinwiddie County, but had been a resident of Norfolk for 25 years. Mr. Hawks had been associated with the C. Billups & Son Co. for the past 15 years and was held in high esteem by both his employers and fellow workmen. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Guy Hawks, 727 Clay Avenue; four daughters, Mrs. R.E. Twiford, Mrs. M.H. Holten, Mrs. C.H. Cummings and Miss Anna Louise Hawks, all of Norfolk, one brother, Samuel Hawks, Church Road, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. T.S. Leonard, Petersburg and Mrs. W.H. Talley, of Church Road, and two grandchildren. The body was removed to the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro., 631 Westover Avenue, where funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
