Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark January 8, 1912

Emmett R. Hawks died at his home, 116 East Highland Avenue, at 9:15 o'clock 
Saturday night after an illness of two months, aged 57 years.  He is survived 
by a widow and four daughters, Miss Bessie Hawks, Mrs. P.D. Halstead, Mrs. 
H.S. Herrick and Mrs. C.L. Shultz, all of Norfolk; also three sisters, Mrs. 
W.B. Austin, of Norfolk; Mrs. C.D. Jenkins and Mrs. R. Ferguson, both of 
Chicago.
The funeral will be held from No, 116 East Highland Avenue at 3 o'clock this 
afternoon.  The interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
