She Was the Nurse for Twenty Years
 in the Family of Gen. R. E. Lee.

Miss Nora Hayes died yesterday morning at 7 o'clock at St. Vincent’s Hospital at 
the advanced age of ninety years, having been a patient of that institution for 
the last eight years. The funeral will take place from the hospital chapel this 
afternoon at 2 o’clock, and the interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Miss Hayes was a nurse in the family of General Robert E. Lee for twenty years, 
and later in the same capacity with the Tennant family, of Petersburg. Mr. Tennant 
will be down to attend the funeral.
