Mr. James H. Hayes died October 8, at his late residence, Marshall avenue, after 
an extended illness. The funeral was held from the First Baptist Church, Bute 
street. Rev. R. H. Bowling officiated. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Hayes other than his wife, Mrs. Mary Hayes, are five children, James 
H. Jr., Clarence, Zeliah, Thelma, and Hattie.
