Norfolk Virginian June 20, 1873
DEATH OF AN OLD PRINTER - It is with pain that we announce this morning the death 
of Captain John Hayman, which occurred at his residence about 8 o'clock yesterday 
morning of consumption. Captain Hayman was an old printer, but was years ago 
compelled to retire from the business on account of his health. He has been long 
lingering and has suffered so much that to him death must have been a relief. He 
leaves a family in an entirely destitute condition, to whom we commend the 
attention of the benevolent.
